2025 has been a year of poly-crises, grief, fear and rage. As artists, we are needed. Our creativity and artwork can nourish, inspire, bring comfort, and fuel revolutionary change. Our art can help us process and survive.
Yet to make our art, we need to create a clearing to be with our bodyminds as we process the past year and mindfully move into the new year. We need time to daydream about our art.
A sacred pause honors the slowness of the winter season and the slowness that capitalism tries to remove from our day-to-day realities. Pausing is portal to spaciousness, feeling, and creativity. The pause offered in this workshop is designed to nourish our artistic hearts for the year ahead.
In this workshop, we will:
- practice moving slowly together,
- meditate as a way of noticing what’s present and asking for our attention,
- engage with generative prompts that offer space to process what transpired in 2025,
- open channels to creative inspiration,
- spend time dreaming into our creative hopes for 2026.
This workshop will take place on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 11am-1:30pm MST (1-3:30pm EST, 12-2:30pm CST, 10am-12:30pm PST).
Zoom captioning will be available, as well as verbal and written instructions for the generative practices offered. While this workshop includes group check-ins and discussions, participants may opt out of any activity that they prefer to. No one will be required to share. There will be a ten-minute break during the workshop.
Given these difficult economic times, this workshop is being offered on a sliding scale of $0-75. Pay what you can, or attend for free if you are facing financial hardship. Register using this form.
