as artists who choose to share our artwork with the public, promotion is part of the labor we do to help our work find its audience. promotion can be exhausting, stressful, anxiety-inducing, and can bring up fear of failure and rejection. how can we reimagine the process of promoting our creative projects to one that is imbued with creativity, care and mindfulness?
this workshop will help us explore:
- what success and failure mean to us,
- how we will care for ourselves through the promotion process,
- who our ideal audience is and how we might reach them,
- what skills and resources we have that will help us with promotion,
- how to ask for help when we need additional resources or skills to promote our work in a specific way,
- how we can use our creativity to promote our work in ways that feel fun and pleasurable.
